Study and Research Group on Curriculum, Training and Teaching Work

The study and research group: Curriculum, Training and Teacher Work is made up of a network involving researchers from the State University of Londrina, University of Évora – Portugal, State University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Federal University of Southern Bahia and Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais. The GEP-CFTD also brings together students, teachers from basic and higher education, researchers and others interested in collectively building knowledge that contributes to social transformation through education, and aims to understand the context of Curriculum, Training and Teacher Work, since these categories of analysis presuppose a permanent exercise of problematization with regard to pedagogical praxis. To this end, we will seek to unveil an overview of what already exists regarding research and elaborations on the subject in our country, from the point of view of the authors who enrich the literature in the area, and also take a close look at the interior of the training spaces, thus being able to get to know first-hand certain practices that prove to be promising and stimulating for curricular policies.
That said, the Study and Research Group on Curriculum, Training and Teacher Work (GEP-CFTD) is a space for collective knowledge production, focused on critical and reflective research on training processes in the field of education. Linked to the commitment to a public, democratic and socially quality school, the group articulates teaching, research and extension, promoting dialogue between theory and practice. The work of GEP-CFTD focuses on three fundamental axes: the curriculum as a field of dispute and social construction; teacher training as an ongoing and emancipatory process; and teaching work as a complex dimension, crossed by historical, political and pedagogical challenges.
Our visual identity reflects these commitments. The open book symbolizes the knowledge and theoretical basis that underpins our actions. The human figures represent the collective and the centrality of individuals in educational processes. The gears refer to teaching work and transformative practices. The spiral evokes the constant movement of critical thinking and human development. The colors green and gray express, respectively, hope and professional commitment to public education.
